About the artist...
Kerri grew up in the hamlet of Tomahawk, Alberta and now works from her home studio in rural Alberta. The beauty of the outdoors have been a consistent inspiration. Growing up in rural Alberta, Kerri has been blessed to have the North Saskatchewan River in her back yard. The love of art and nature blossomed early with encouragement from her grandmother. Together they attended painting lessons at the Tomahawk Community Club and shared many walks to watch the beaver and skip rocks on the North Saskatchewan River.
Kerri earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree from the University of Alberta and enjoyed teaching art at the public high school in Drayton Valley. Kerri continues to live outside of Drayton Valley with her husband and 2 children.
Kerri’s primary medium is oil although she enjoys painting in watercolour and gouache and experimenting in mixed mediums and collage.
Kerri has always held a deep love of nature, wildlife and the visual arts. She is fascinated by the colours in the world and finds the greatest inspiration quietly observing and immersing herself in the outdoors. She hopes to continue to evolve as an artist and create moments of nostalgia or a glimpse of a moment forgotten.
